Carrie and Adam at the American Visionary Art Museum

A wedding is steeped in tradition but in the hands of some people, it is fertile ground for rich and creative re-interpretation! Right from the start, our couple gravitated to a more unique setting for engagement photos down at the Clipper Mill. Check out my November 17th blog on their engagement session.

Rings and Pink White Rose bouquet

For their wedding, the scene shifts to the Inner Harbor… Carrie is getting ready at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Adam is doing the same in their Federal Hill home. Check out Carrie’s blue birdcage veil hand-made by Rachel Shaw (of Plan It Perfect), their Planner Par Excellence.

After their sun-drenched waterside meeting Carrie, Adam, and the rest of the wedding party took a stroll across the street to the site of the main event, the American Visionary Art Museum.

The ceremony took place in the rich shapes and textures of the AVAM garden. They composed and read their own wedding vows (very touching), had unique readings, and even a “singing bowl”.

Amanda and Jimmy’s Fells Point Engagement Session

man and woman at the Baltimore waterfront

There are so many great locations in Fells Point for photographs! Our couple wanted a romantic urban scene for their portraits and also their wedding, which takes place at the American Visionary Art Museum this July. We kept walking and talking, which was a great way for me to get better acquainted with Amanda and Jimmy!

Diana and Tim’s Wedding at the Tremont Grand

Dress in antique dresser

Our couple knows quite a bit about great Baltimore wedding venues. They met while working at Harbor Court and both have worked in the event field for many years. Diana is now with the new Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. They chose the Tremont Grand for their gorgeous wedding and everything lived up to and exceeded expectations.

There are so many unique rooms in which to shoot, I always get excited to work there! We took full advantage of the spaces… the Board Room, the Library, the grand hallways, and this was just the start.

The Roman Strada room is the biggest, grandest living room one could imagine. Even the grand piano looks petite there.

The Corinthian room is gorgeous in it’s own right, but they had lighting and linens and great floral arrangements that were eye-popping! Diana and Tim had an amazing wedding and they thoroughly enjoyed everything!

John and Katie’s Wedding at the Elkridge Furnace Inn

yellow flower wedding invitation

Katie’s spring flower motif was perfect for this late April wedding. The rustic texture of barn wood contrasted with spring colors (especially the beautiful combination of yellows, whites, greens and blues) has always been a favorite.
